Business tools and systems

Systems for running your business: content publishing tools, custom applications, business phone lines, and AI call handling.

Plan the work before building the system

Larger requests begin with a planning conversation and a separate written scope. We agree what the system must do, what information it uses, who can access it, who checks its work, and when it should stop or ask for help.

Content publishing tools

Build a process your business can use to produce its own content. The scope can cover planning, gathering topics and sources, research and drafting, images, checks on brand and claims, publishing, sharing, and performance tracking.

A person reviews and approves content before publication. Responsibility for publishing is assigned clearly, with agreed usage controls, documentation, and handover.

If you want S&CC to write articles for your website, see Regular articles.

Custom applications

A custom application is a separate project built around a defined business task. We plan what it does, the data it keeps, sign-in and user permissions where needed, connections to other software, and how the finished work will be tested.

The scope also covers hosting, maintenance, documentation, and ownership. Projects involving sensitive or regulated information need their own review.

Business phone lines

Set up a new business number or move an existing one, with agreed business hours, call routing, voicemail, a basic greeting, and forwarding to you or your team. We make test calls before launch.

Defined usage

The quote sets allowances for numbers, minutes, recordings, and messages. The service stops or asks for approval before costs exceed those limits.

Your business number

You complete any identity check the carrier requires. You keep the right to move your number to another provider once your account is settled; the carrier controls the moving timeline.

AI call handling

Agree which calls AI can help with and when a person should take over. This is a custom setup with an ongoing managed service, monitoring, and defined usage limits.

Approved information and a human handover

We agree the call script, the information it can answer from, and the path to a person when it cannot help. Calendar or customer-record connections are included when quoted.

Clear disclosure and testing

The AI identifies your business and tells callers it is AI. We agree recording and consent settings and test calls before launch. You arrange legal advice where required for your location or industry; regulated advice requires separate review and approval.

Monitoring and limits

The written scope defines ongoing monitoring and usage allowances. Additional capacity requires approval or payment in advance before use.

A written scope for your business

After a call and planning conversation, we quote what will be built, the information and access needed, review and testing, handover, and ownership. The quote states any ongoing fee, included usage, and which monitoring or management is outside the scope.

These projects are separate from your two annual update requests. Other business-system requests can be discussed on a call.
